What is SnapViewer, and who are these terms with?
SnapViewer is a free web tool, run by an independent team, that shows public Snapchat profiles and lets you save their public snaps. "We" means the people who run snapviewer.me; "you" means anyone using the site.
SnapViewer is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Snap Inc. Snapchat is a trademark of Snap Inc. Snap's own terms continue to apply to your use of Snapchat, and these terms do not replace them.
What may I use SnapViewer for?
Personal, non-commercial purposes: watching public Stories without the app, keeping a copy of your own snaps, or saving a public snap for your own viewing. You are responsible for what you save and what you do with it.
- Save content you created, or that the creator allows you to save.
- Keep saved files for your own viewing.
- Ask the creator before reposting or reusing their work, and credit them.
What is not allowed?
| Not allowed | Why |
|---|---|
| Using the tool to follow, harass, stalk or intimidate anyone | People make profiles public to share, not to be monitored |
| Reposting or selling someone else's snaps without permission | It can infringe the creator's copyright |
| Automated or bulk use (scripts, bots, scraping our API) | The tool is built for people, one profile at a time |
| Trying to reach private accounts or friends-only content | The tool is for public content only |
| Overloading, probing or attacking the service | It breaks the tool for everyone |
| Using download links as a general proxy | Links only serve Snapchat media, by design |
We may block access for anyone who breaks these rules, without notice.
What does the service promise, and what not?
SnapViewer is provided as is, free of charge, without any warranty. We try to keep it working and its labels accurate, but we cannot promise that every profile will load or that the tool will always be available.
The tool depends on how Snapchat serves public profile pages. If Snapchat changes that, some or all features may stop working until we adapt, or for good. Files are saved in the size Snapchat serves; download links expire after one hour.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage from using or being unable to use SnapViewer, or from files you choose to save.
Who owns the content I save?
The snaps belong to their creators, not to SnapViewer and not to you. Using our tool gives you no rights in them. We do not host Snapchat files: each file streams from Snapchat's servers through a temporary link.
Rights holders can ask us to block content, and account owners can ask us to stop showing their profile, through the copyright and opt-out procedure.
Who owns the SnapViewer website?
The text, design, code, logo and figures of snapviewer.me belong to SnapViewer. You may link to any page and quote short passages with a link back.
Can these terms change?
Yes, for example if we add features, analytics or ads. Using the site after a change means you accept the new version. Questions go to contact@snapviewer.me; the privacy policy is part of these terms.
